Newsletter #5 2017

We convey well wishes to the athletics team that will represent Midrand Primary at the inter-school’s competition to be held at Halfway House Primary on Friday, 10 February 2017. The athletics team will depart from school at 07h00 and the estimated time of arrival back at the school is 14H00. Friday will be a normal school day.

Our school Photo Day will take place on Monday, 13 February 2017. We urge all parents to ensure that learners are neatly and suitably attired for the photo shoot. Learners must wear the correct summer school uniform and school tracksuits will not be allowed on this day. Hairstyles must be in accordance with the schools code of conduct. Please note that even if the learner has PE on the day, they are required to come to school in the correct school uniform. Price lists will follow after the school has received the samples from the studio.

Our school will mark the celebration of Valentine’s Day on Friday, 17 February 2017. Learners will be allowed to come to school dressed in red and white at a cost of R10 per learner.

Please note that parents who wish to apply for exemption are requested to collect application forms from the credit control office, complete and return the application forms to the credit control office. Exemptions opened on Wednesday, 01 February 2017 and will close on Tuesday, 28 February 2017. Please note that no applications will be accepted after the closing date.

Parents are requested to ensure that their children are suitably prepared for the cycle tests, which will begin on Tuesday, 07 March 2017 and conclude on Tuesday, 14 March 2017. The tests will cover the content of work from the first term.

The school has collected a number of uniform items that have been stored in the lost and found. Parents will be given until Friday, 3 March 2017 to claim their child’s missing items. The times to access the lost and found area will be on Wednesday and Thursday from 13H30 to 14H30. The parents must report to Lebo in the Finance office for assistance. Please note that unidentified items after 3 March 2017 will be sold as second hand uniform by the school. The aforementioned sale will be held on Saturday, 11 March 2017 in the school hall from 09h00 to 11h00.

Parents are not to meet with teachers during contact time nor move directly to the class before reporting to reception first. Parents are advised to make appointments before/after school for meeting with educators. No parent will be seen without an appointment.

Parents who have not yet signed for their children’s textbooks are urged to finalise the process, as learners will not be allowed to take home textbooks for the completion of homework if these are not signed for. Arrangements must be made with class teachers through the diary, for suitable times, as contact time cannot be compromised. We encourage parents to discuss the care and handling of books with their children.

All parents are requested to ensure that their school fees account is up to date. School fees can be paid at the school’s finance office using debit or credit card or by direct deposit into the school’s bank account. No cash will be accepted.
