Newsletter #22 2017

We would like to warmly welcome all our learners and parents into the 3rd term of the 2017 academic year. We would like to compliment all our learners who performed well in the 2nd term final assessments and encourage them to improve on their current level of performance.

We would like to urge those learners who failed to meet the minimum requirements to work harder this term and reach the required level of achievement in all learning areas.

To our parents and teachers who assisted our learners with dedication, thank you for your hard work, love and commitment.

All parents are invited to attend the parents evening to be held today, 27 July 2017 at 16h00-18h00. It is compulsory for at least one parent/guardian to attend as educators will discuss your child’s academic performance and set targets for Term 3.

We welcome two new staff members to our school this term. Mr Makoni who is the HOD for Mathematics and Ms Ntombela who will be teaching isiZulu in the Foundation phase. We hope that their stay with us will be fruitful and enjoyable.

All learners and staff members will get together to clean up the school on Friday, 04 August 2017. Parents who are interested in joining can contact Karabo at reception to give in their details for safety and control purposes. The clean-up will take place on Friday from 10h15. Learners will be required to come to school in old clothes, suitable for cleaning, and will be required to bring books for the periods until first break. Learners are encouraged to bring buckets, plastic containers, rubber gloves and rag cloths.

The preparations for the Midrand Primary School Family Fun day are underway and this year’s event promises to be bigger and better with loads of entertainment for all. We will have a 5 km fun run and a variety of rides, jumping castles and slides. This event will be held on 09 September 2017. The entrance fee for 2017 is R60.00 per person. To avoid long queues on the day of the event, we encourage that payment be made to the class teacher.

The gymnasts will be taking part in the Tumble Mania Competition on Saturday, 29 July 2017, which will take place in Benoni. We wish them all the best in their participation.

Parents are urged to make payments for camp as the closing date for payments are nearing. Please ensure that school fees are updated to avoid disappointment. Please note that the cut-off date for payments is 01 September 2017.
