MANDELA DAY-PROJECT (04 AUGUST 2017)

All learners and staff members will get together to clean up the school on Friday, 04 August 2017. Parents who are interested in joining can contact Karabo at reception to give in their details for safety and control purposes. The clean-up will take place on Friday from 10h15. Learners will be required to come to school in old clothes, suitable for cleaning, and will be required to bring books for the periods until first break. Learners are encouraged to bring buckets, plastic containers, rubber gloves and rag cloths.

 

GYMNASTICS COMPETITION

Congratulations to all the gymnasts that participated in the Tumble Mania competition on Saturday, 29 July 2017. The competition was a huge success and the learners received great scores from the judges, resulting in great averages. Thank you to the parents who came with to support us. FAMILY FUN DAY

The preparations for the Midrand Primary School Family Fun day are underway and this year’s event promises to be bigger and better with loads of entertainment for all. We will have a 5 km fun run and a variety of rides, jumping castles and slides. This event will be held on 09 September 2017. The entrance fee for 2017 is R60.00 per person. To avoid long queues on the day of the event, we encourage that payment be made to the class teacher.

 

SKIRMISH COMPETITION

Eight learners participated in the Story Skirmish Competition on 02 August 2017 at the Ivory Park library. Learners competed against five other schools and were placed third. We commend the efforts of all the participants and we wish to thank Ms Nayager.

 

AMESA CHALLENGE

Twelve learners in grade 4 and 5 wrote the final round for the Amesa Challenge yesterday. We await the results as the challenge papers are marked externally. We commend the efforts of teachers were involved in the learners’ preparations. We wish to thank Mrs Khoza and Mr Mloyi.

 

SPELLA BEE DISTRICT COMPETION

Isithandile Labane took part in the Spella Bee competition on 27 July 2017. She reached the district level and was eliminated in the third leg. We commend her efforts and wish to thank Mrs Mahlangu for preparing the learner.

 

OVERNIGHT EXCURSIONS

Parents are urged to make payments for camp as the closing date for payments are nearing. Please ensure that school fees are updated to avoid disappointment. Please note that the cut-off date for payments is 01 September 2017. 

  • Grade 4:

The grade 4 learners will also be going on an overnight excursion to Camp River Lake on 26-28 September 2017. The cost is R 1000.00.

  • Grade 5:

The grade 5 learners will be going on an overnight excursion to Klein Kariba (Bela Bela) on 27-29 September 2017. The cost is R 1300.00.

  • Grade 6:

The grade 6 learners will be going on an overnight excursion to Fraaibos Nature Camp (Brits) on 26-29 September 2017. The cost is R 1550.00.

  • Grade 7:

The grade 7 learners will be going on an overnight excursion to Camp Wagon Drift (Estcourt) on 25-29 September 2017. The cost is R 2500.00.

 

SCHOOL FEE’S

All parents are requested to ensure their school fees account is up to date. School fees can be paid at the school’s finance office in cash, debit or credit card or by direct deposit into the school’s bank account.
