Newsletter #32 2018

WELCOME TO TERM 4!

We would like to take this opportunity to welcome our learners, parents, staff and other stakeholders to the fourth and final term of the 2018 academic year. We would like to place on record that this term is quite short. Hence, we request that parents/guardians monitor their children’s academics closely, ensuring that the assessment plan learners received is adhered to. We wish all of our learners well for the final term.

RE-REGISTRATION FORMS – ADDITIONAL FORM FOR SUBMISSION

Learners received an additional form on 10 October 2018 which has to be completed and submitted on or before 12 October 2018. In order for the registration form to be processed, parents/guardians must submit this compulsory form urgently.

TERM 4 – PARENTS’ EVENING

All parents are invited to the compulsory parents’ evening to be held on this evening, 11 October 2018 from 16h00-19h00. The focus of the meeting will be to discuss leaner performance in Term three, intervention strategies and set performance targets for Term four. We call upon all the parents to be actively involved in their children’s education. Attendance is compulsory as pertinent issues relating to each learner will be discussed.

WORLD TEACHERS’ DAY

We would like to acknowledge our dedicated and hard-working educators as we commemorated World Teachers’ Day on 5 October 2018. Teachers are the cornerstone of society and they are the pioneers of every profession. On this day, we would like to extend our gratitude to the selfless educators of our school and this country for the sterling work they do. We implore all our parents to convey messages of support and appreciation to their children‘s teachers today during the parents’ evening and tomorrow when the school will officially host the Teacher’s Day celebration. “A good teacher is like a candle – it consumes itself to light the way for others.” – Mustafa Kemal Ataturk.
