FAMILY FUN DAY – 25TH ANNIVERSARY COMMEMORATION
Our school has reached a great milestone. This year, Midrand Primary School is celebrating our 25th anniversary. In commemoration of this milestone, we invite all parents and ex-learners to attend our Family Fun day on Saturday, 31 August 2019. There will be stalls selling lovely goods and delicious food. We will have lots of entertainment and displays, competitions and much more. Not only will there be rides for the kids, but lots to do for mom, dad and family members. There will be numerous prizes up for grabs. Come and enjoy a fun-filled day with us as we celebrate 25 years of the existence of this great institution. Parents who are interested in booking a stall for the day can contact the school reception for more details. Hurry! Only a limited amount of stalls will be available at a cost of R650-00. We have full faith that our parents will turn up in their numbers in supporting our amazing school.
SPELLA BEE COMPETITION: CLUSTER LEVEL
Reatlegile M. and Vuyisa M. represented the Cluster for the Spella Bee Competition last week. Our learners performed really well. Unfortunately, they will not proceed to the next round of the competition. We are so proud of their achievement in making it thus far. Thank you to Mrs. Mahlangu for facilitating.
THE STORY SKIRMISH COMPETITION RESULTS (LIBRARY ROUND)
Seven learners participated in The Story Skirmish Competition held at the Halfway House Library on the 26th of July 2019. Participants had to read 15 junior novels and competed against 5 other schools on the day. Our learners performed well and were placed second in the competition. We are proud of our participants and we encourage them to keep reading! Readers are leaders! Thank you to Mrs. Pillay and Ms. Nayager for their hard work in coaching and facilitating. THE BATTLE OF THE BOOKS COMPETITION RESULTS (LIBRARY ROUND)
On the 7th of August 2019, eight learners from Grade 7 participated in The Battle of the Books Competition held at Halfway House Library. Our learners competed with three other schools and were placed first in the library round. They will proceed to the regional round on 11 September 2019. We are so proud of our avid readers and we wish them well in their next round. Thank you to Mr. Govender for coaching and facilitating. SOCIAL SCIENCES OLYMPIAD – SCHOOL LEVEL RESULTS
On the 24th of July 2019, all our Grade 6 learners participated in the school-level of the Social Sciences Olympiad. Ditshwane Shakong and Iona Nyembe were our top two learners. They will proceed to the next level of the Olympiad on the 13th of August 2019 at Orange Grove Primary school. All the best to our outstanding Social Sciences enthusiasts.
NS/TECH SCIENCE FAIR RESULTS
On the 7th of August 2019, Lwangamo P. and Ronaldo M. participated in the NS/TECH Science Fair held at Sandtonview Primary. Our learners displayed a poster in their presentation and did very well. Unfortunately they will not proceed to the next round of the competition. Well done to our learners. Thank you to Mr. Ngobeni for facilitating.
FINAL REMINDER – GRADE 7 CAREER DAY
Our Grade 7 learners will commemorate Career Day on 13/08/2019. We have a special guest speaker who will address learners and motivate them to achieve their ideal careers. Grade 7 learners must come to school dressed in the career attire they wish to achieve in the future. Learners must be dressed appropriately. No make-up or fancy hairstyles are allowed.
REMINDER – GRADE 7 EMS MARKET DAY
Our Grade 7 learners will be conducting their Market Day for EMS on the 16th of August 2019. This event is going to be assessed formally by EMS educators. Our learners will be given the opportunity to experience entrepreneurship. A letter has been sent to all Grade 7 parents in order to prepare for the event accordingly. There will be two selling sessions on the day. We encourage all Grade 1-6 learners to bring pocket money along in order to support our young entrepreneurs.SCHOOL FEES
