CLOSURE OF SCHOOL FOR TERM 3
School will close for the third academic Term on the 20th of September 2019 and will re-open for Term 4 on the 1st of October 2019. On the last day, learners will receive their progress report cards at 10:00 and will be released at the same time. Grade 7 learners who are going on Camp will receive their progress report cards upon arrival from the Camp. Parents are instructed to make the necessary transport arrangements to fetch their children on time. We will not tolerate learners loitering after they have been dismissed. Learners’ safety is of utmost importance. We wish our learners and staff a safe and a restful holiday.
OVERNIGHT CAMPS – INDEMNITY FORMS/SAFETY OF MONEY
Most of our Grade 4-7 learners will be going on Camp next week. Parents must ensure that the consent and indemnity forms are completed correctly and returned to the class teacher. All the medical information must be completed correctly in case of an emergency. Pocket money must be kept safely, preferably in something that can be locked. We wish our learners an enjoyable and educational experience at Camp. Kindly note departure and arrival times below. These are approximate times for arrival.

EARLY CELEBRATION OF HERITAGE DAY
Our school will commemorate Heritage Day tomorrow, 13 September 2019. Our learners and staff will come to school dressed in their traditional/cultural attire. There will be no fee charged for learners on the day. We will celebrate this auspicious day with a special assembly. In light of the current crises of our nation, let us support the celebration of our cultural heritage as we unite in our diversity.
BATTLE OF THE BOOKS – ZONAL RESULTS
Eight of our Grade 7 avid readers proceeded to the Zonal round of The Battle of the Books competition which was held on the 11th of September 2019 at Diepsloot Library. After an immense battle, reaching a tie-breaker, our learners attained position two. Congratulations to the following learners who have worked tirelessly, reading fifteen novels since February this year: Nhlanhla M, Lehlogonolo M, Nhlalala M, Precious M, Himalan G, Alupheli N, Frieda N & Gcobisa J. These learners encourage other learners to read as they have seen an improvement in their comprehension, writing and spelling. Thanks to Mr. Govender and Ms. Nayager for coaching & facilitating this competition.
