Newsletter #34 2019

On the 7th of October 2019 learners received letters addressed to all parents regarding the date and agenda for our AGM to be held on the 7th of November 2019 at 18:00 in the school hall. We extend an invitation to all our parents to attend the AGM as pivotal information will be presented as indicated on the letter.

Mr. Sikhosana and Mrs. Stokes-Thubakgale accompanied 16 gymnasts to the Gym Games (Nationals) which was held in Cape Town during the Term 3 holidays. Unfortunately the team did not attain any medals but most gymnasts ranked in the Top 10 out of approximately 40 competitors from around the country. We are extremely delighted and proud of our gymnasts for making it to the Nationals and we wish them the best of luck in their future events. We applaud their coaches for their dedication and we thank them for their time spent with our gymnasts.

Congratulations to our outstanding gymnasts noted below:

Mukona Thuvakhale – Level 5: Ranked 5th

Olerato Kgonothi – Level 4 : Ranked 4th

Parents and learners are advised that our Final Examination Programme is nearing. The exam will commence on the 4th of November 2019 and will conclude on the 15th of November 2019. Learners will receive the exam timetable next week. Learners will be tested on the content from all four terms. It is imperative that all parents support and supervise their children in this time. Parents can assist by developing a study timetable, by helping learners revise daily as well as by randomly testing learners on various topics from their textbooks. Parents must also ensure that all activities are up to date in learners’ notebooks. Incomplete classwork and homework will lead to poor academic results. Parents must ensure that learners bring healthy lunch to school every day. All the best to our learners for their final examinations. Remember, excellent results are achieved when we are dedicated and we study hard.

On the 7th of November 2019 at 8:30, On Cue Theatre will be hosting a show called “Treasure Island” in our school hall. The show promises to be quite educational and enriching. The cost is R30pp which is payable by the 7th of November 2019 at 8am. Completed reply slips must be sent to the class teacher with the money.

The weather has become quite hot recently. Parents are instructed to ensure that learners come to school attired in the correct Summer school uniform. Please consult the school diary for the correct Summer uniform. We appreciate your co-operation in this regard.

All parents are requested to ensure that their school fees account is up to date. School fees can be paid at the school’s finance office using debit or credit card or by direct deposit into the school’s bank account. No cash will be accepted. Please use the correct references when making deposits.
