Newsletter #01 2020

On behalf of the management and staff of Midrand Primary School, it is our great honour and privilege to welcome you to the academic year of 2020! We trust that you had an amazing Festive Season and that you are well rested too. We hope that you have spent quality time with your families and friends. A special word of welcome to the new parents who have just joined our family this year. We look forward to establishing healthy, strong and long lasting relationships with you as we embark on the journey to develop, nurture and prepare your child for the challenging world ahead! To our existing parents, we look forward to continue working with you, as we add another exciting chapter in the life of our great institution. As we open a new chapter for the academic year 2020, we implore our parent community to take ownership of their children’s education to ensure that they achieve great results. We are convinced that strong, healthy and working partnerships with you will have a positive influence in your children’s education. We thank you for your support and look forward to working with you.

All parents are invited to the compulsory Parents’ Meeting to be held on 23 January 2020 from 18h00-20h00. All parents will assemble in the School Hall for a briefing session and presentation of 2019 Learner Performance results at 18h00 sharp. Thereafter, parents will go to their child’s classroom for an information/curriculum expectation session with the teacher as well as to receive Academic Target forms. It is compulsory for at least one parent/guardian to attend the meeting. This meeting is critical for our planning and evaluation of our work and parents’ support is important in this regard.

A reminder to parents to send all stationery as per the stationery lists as soon as possible to ensure effective learning. Kindly ensure that all items are individually labelled with your child’s name. Please note that the toilet rolls, boxes of tissue, colour paper and ream of white paper (500 pages – Typek) requested are compulsory items for learners. Parents are urged to submit all the compulsory outstanding stationary items by Friday, 17 January 2020. Late submission will not be tolerated as it hampers teaching and learning.
