Newsletter #03 2020

We would like to extend a word of appreciation to all our parents who have attended the Parents’ meeting last week. To all our parents who could not manage to attend the meeting, kindly make an appointment via the learners’ diary to see your child’s teacher in order to set academic targets for Term 1. We thank you for your compliance in this regard.

On the 10th of February 2020, our school will be engaging in our annual Photograph day. Learners must come to school neatly attired in their white shirt and tie. The photograph package information will be communicated at a later stage. Bring your best smile!

Interhouse will take place tomorrow, 31 January 2020. All learners should wear their PE shorts. T-shirts can be worn according to the learner’s sports house: Tigers – blue, Leopards – red, Lions – green & Pumas – yellow. Learners are only allowed to wear either plain black or white takkies. Learners should have a cap, sunscreen lotion, a healthy lunch and a water bottle. Learners who suffer from any chronic illness should carry their medication (Eg. asthma pump). Learners should carry their books to school in case of inclement weather. We wish our exceptional athletes and staff an enjoyable day ahead!

Grade 1 learners will be released at 1pm daily from 17 February 2020. Kindly note that there is a compulsory waiting class for all Foundation Phase learners who are not fetched by transport drivers or parents. Only learners who walk home will be released and the rest of the learners will remain in the waiting class. The waiting class times are as follows: Monday, Tuesday and Friday until 2pm and Wednesday and Thursday until 13:30.

We are immensely saddened by the passing on of two of our Foundation Phase learners due to illness. A memorial service will be held at school on the 5th of February 2020 from 13:00-14:00 in the school hall. We express our heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families. May their precious souls rest in eternal peace.

Please consult pages 6-7 of the school diary for the summer uniform for boys and girls. Kindly note that new PE uniform was adopted by parents last year. Parents are requested to purchase the new PE uniform as soon as possible from school. All learners are to be attired accordingly. Except for female prefects, girls are not allowed to wear white socks. It is compulsory for all Grade 4-7 learners to wear their white school shirts and school tie every Tuesday for assembly.

We urge parents to take advantage of a massive 10% discount if fees are settled by 31 March 2020. All parents are requested to ensure that their school fees account is up to date. School fees can be paid at the school’s finance office using debit or credit card or by direct deposit into the school’s bank account. No cash will be accepted.
