GRADE 4-7 CYCLE TEST PROGRAMME – TERM 1

Parents are urged to ensure that their children are suitably prepared for the Cycle Tests, which will begin on Monday, 02 March 2020 and conclude on Monday, 09 March 2020. The tests will cover the content of work from the first term. Learners are advised to prepare adequately and in advance so that excellent results are achieved. Please take note of the Cycle Test timetable below:

VALENTINE’S DAY REMINDER

Due to competing school activities, we will commemorate Valentine’s Day tomorrow, 21 February 2020. Learners can come to school dressed in red and white at a cost of R20, payable to the class teacher.

INTER-SCHOOLS ATHLETICS COMPETITION FEEDBACK

Athletes that were selected to compete at the Inter-schools athletics competition last week performed exceptionally well. There are 35 athletes from our school that will proceed to the District level of the competition. We are really proud of all our participants. We congratulate our athletes and sports coaches on this huge milestone and we wish them all the best for the next level of the competition.

PREFECT LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT CAMP FEEDBACK

The Prefects of Midrand Primary school embarked on a leadership development camp to Camp Discovery on Wednesday, 12 February 2020 and retuned on 14 February 2020. The Prefects were equipped with the necessary leadership skills required to carry out their important tasks effectively at school in a fun, nature-filled and adventurous environment. We take this opportunity to thank our prefects, parents, educators and co-ordinators for their support and continued dedication.

SOUTH AFRICAN MATHEMATICS CHALLENGE (AMESA) – REMINDER

Registrations for the South African Mathematics Challenge are now open for learners from Grade 4 to Grade 7. Learners that are willing to participate in this challenge must pay a registration fee of R25 and the due date for payments is 21 February 2020. Registered learners will write the First Round on 13 March 2020. Learners scoring at least 50% in the First Round qualify to participate in the Second Round which will be written on 27 May 2020.  432 best performing learners from the Second Round will be selected to write the Final Round on 28 July 2020. We encourage learners to participate in this developmental Challenge.

SCHOOL FEES

We urge parents to take advantage of a massive 10% discount if fees are settled by 31 March 2020. All parents are requested to ensure that their school fees account is up to date. School fees can be paid at the school’s finance office using debit or credit card or by direct deposit into the school’s bank account. No cash will be accepted.
