REVISED DATES FOR THE PHASING IN OF LEARNERS IN GRADES 1-5 & LSEN

The dates for the phased in return of learners has been released in the revised DBE gazette. Please take note of the revised dates noted below:

DATES GRADES
20 JULY 2020 GRADE 3 AND LSEN.
27 JULY 2020 GRADE 1 AND 2.
17 AUGUST 2020 GRADE 4.
31 AUGUST 2020 GRADE 5.

THE ALTERNATION TIMETABLE APPROACH COMMENCES ON THE 20TH OF JULY 2020

From the 20th of July 2020 we will be following the alternation timetable. All Group A learners in Grades 3, 6 and 7 should report to school on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Learners in these grades who are in Group B should report to school on Tuesday and Thursday. In the following week, learners in Group B will report to school on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Learners who come to school on the incorrect day will be turned away. Parents of learners in Grade 4 and 5 will be informed of a meeting in the weeks ahead where parents will be able to collect an Orientation pack as other grades have done. Take note of the alternation timetable on the other side of this newsletter.

IMPORTANT NOTICE: LEARNERS WHO ARE UNWELL SHOULD STAY AT HOME

Parents must continuously monitor their children. If learners display any flu-like symptoms or are unwell, they are not allowed to come to school.  Learners are only allowed to return to school once they have received medical treatment and have fully recovered. Parents are instructed to ask learners the following questions at home and if the answer is yes to any one of these questions, the learner should stay at home.

Do you have a high temperature? (Feel the forehead and lower neck with back of your palm)

Do you have a cough or a headache?

Do you have a sore throat?

Do you have difficulty breathing (shortness of breath)?

Do you feel weak and tired today?

Can you taste food and drinks normally?

Can you smell normally?

 

2021 REGISTRATION OF LEARNERS IN GRADES 2-7

The 2021 registration process will commence on the 20th of July 2020 to the 31st of August 2020 for learners in Grades 2-7. The registration process will occur online via our school website (www.midrandprimary.co.za) Click on Admissions and follow all the steps. Due to Covid-19, walk-in registrations will not be accepted.

THE MINISTER OF BASIC EDUCATION VISITS MIDRAND PRIMARY SCHOOL

The Minister of Basic Education, Mrs. Angie Motshekga visited Midrand Primary school on Monday, 6 July 2020, accompanied by other Education Officials. The Minister addressed learners on personal hygiene matters. She also handed out cloth masks to our learners. We thank the Minister and her team for visiting and supporting our school during this difficult times.

 FOUNDATION PHASE ANNOUNCEMENT

Parents of learners in Grade 3 are informed that learners should not bring their chair bags to school. However, learners should bring their pencil case/space case to school daily.

SCHOOL PHOTOGRAPHS

The due date for the payment of photograph packages have been extended to the 3rd of August 2020. Parents are requested to send their proof of payment or payment envelopes to the class teacher.

SCHOOL FEES

All parents are requested to ensure that their school fees account is up to date. School fees can be paid at the school’s finance office using debit or credit card or by direct deposit into the school’s bank account. No cash will be accepted.
