1.   TERM 3 ASSESSMENT PLANS PROVIDED TO LEARNERS

Learners have received their Term 3 assessment plans. Parents are requested to ensure that learners prepare for their assessment tasks ahead of time. Submissions must be made on or before due dates. Late submissions will not be tolerated. We encourage parents to monitor the progress of the assessment plan weekly. Learners must do their best and submit assessment tasks of a high standard to achieve excellent results.

 

2.   SAFETY ALERT: INCIDENTS OF REMOTE JAMMING

Parents and transport operators are advised to ensure that their vehicles are locked thoroughly when dropping off or fetching learners every day. There have been more incidents of remote jamming reported. Please be vigilant. No valuables should be left in the car. Parents are advised to remain in their cars when learners are dropped off as there are security and staff members who monitor learners until they get to their respective classes.

 

3.   COVID-19 SYMPTOM MONITORING AT HOME

Parents are requested to monitor their children’s health on a regular basis. Learners who display any Covid-19 related symptoms should not come to school until they have fully recovered. We expect maximum co-operation in this regard to ensure the safety of all learners and staff members.

 

  1. MONITORING OF LEARNERS’ BOOKS AND SCHOOL DIARY

We remind parents to check their child’s notebooks and their diary daily. The diary must be signed. The onus is on all our parents to ensure that communication from educators is acknowledged. All classwork and homework activities must be completed to ensure good academic progress. Incomplete work will not be tolerated.

 

  1. THE ANNUAL PYJAMA DAY FEEDBACK

The annual Pyjama Day was held last week for learners in Group A and Group B. We would like to thank our learners for their participation in this fun event. We express our sincere gratitude to our parents for supporting this fundraising initiative. We welcome your continued support in the future fundraising endeavours of our school.

 

  1. REMINDER: GRADE 2-7 NEW APPLICATIONS AT MIDRAND PRIMARY SCHOOL

Applications for Grade 2-7 learners commenced on the 5th of August 2021. The application process will be conducted online (www.midrandprimary.co.za). Applications will close on the 10th of September 2021.

 

  1. REMINDER: GRADE 1 AND GRADE 8 ONLINE APPLICATIONS FOR 2022

Applications for Grade 1 and Grade 8 will be done online (www.gdeadmissions.gov.za). Phase 1 of the applications opened for Grade 8 applicants only, which began on the 10th of August 2021 and will conclude on the 3rd of September 2021. Phase 2 of the applications will be opened for both Grade 1 and Grade 8 learners on the 13th of September 2021 and will conclude on the 8th of October 2021. Parents must be responsible and apply on time to avoid placement challenges.

 

 

 

 

8.   SCHOOL FEES

All parents are urged to ensure that their school fees account is up to date. School fees can be paid at the school’s finance office using debit or credit card or by direct deposit into the school’s bank account. No cash will be accepted. Use the correct references when making deposits.
