1. CLOSURE OF SCHOOL FOR THE ACADEMIC YEAR 2021

On behalf of the SMT and SGB of Midrand Primary school, we would like to wish our staff, learners, and parents a safe and enjoyable festive season. We thank our excellent staff for their hard work and commitment to Midrand Primary school. We are proud of our staff members who have overcome many challenges such as Covid-19 as well as other challenges throughout the year. You are highly valued and appreciated. We implore parents to take the necessary precautions to protect their families against the Covid-19 variant by observing all health protocols. May all your dreams and aspirations come to pass in the new year.

 

2. ISSUING OF LEARNER PROGRESS REPORTS

Learners in Group B will receive their progress reports on Tuesday, the 14th of December 2021 and they will be released at 09:00. This will be the last day of the school term for learners in Group B. Learners in Group A will receive their progress reports on the 15th of December 2021 and they will be released at 09:00. This will be the last day of the school year. Transport arrangements must be made. Learners are not allowed to loiter after being released. This is in the best interest of our learners.

 

3. RE-OPENING OF SCHOOL IN 2022

School will re-open on the 12th of January 2021 and learners in Group A must report to school. Learners in Group B will report to school on the 13th of January 2021. Learners’ progress report envelopes will also contain a notification indicating learners’ groups and their class for next year.

 

4. STATIONERY LIST FOR 2022

The stationery list will be inserted in learners’ progress report envelopes. Parents are instructed to ensure that all the stationery items are purchased according to the list provided. Teaching and learning will commence on the first day of school. The following items must be sent to school on the first day: Boxes of tissue, toilet rolls, ream of white paper (Typek brand only), and flip files (assessment files). We appreciate your compliance.

 

5. ROTATIONAL TIMETABLE

The rotational timetable will continue when school re-opens next year. A copy of the timetable will be inserted into learners’ progress report envelopes. We advise parents to keep this safe to avoid confusion when school re-opens.

 

6. CANCELLATION OF THE GRADE 7 FAREWELL

Parents of learners in Grade 7 have received an SMS pertaining to the cancellation of the Grade 7 farewell due to an increase in Covid-19 cases. However, Grade 7 learners will collect their gifts at school on Friday, the 10th of December 2021. All the best to our exiting Grade 7s on the new adventure that awaits. Always hoist the flag of Midrand Primary high.

 

7. MONITORING OF COVID-19 SYMPTOMS

Parents are instructed to ensure that learners are monitored for Covid-19 related symptoms. Learners showing any of these symptoms should remain at home until they have fully recovered. An amended controlled test timetable will be provided to learners who are affected. Parents must communicate this to the school telephonically. Proof of Covid-19 positive test results must be submitted to the school. We are calling upon our parents to be responsible so that we can minimize the spread of Covid-19.

 

 

8. SCHOOL FEES

All parents are urged to ensure that their school fees account is up to date. School fees can be paid at the school’s finance office using debit or credit card or by direct deposit into the school’s bank account. No cash will be accepted. Use the correct references when making deposits.
