  1. STAFFING

We would like to congratulate the following colleagues who have commenced their new duties as follows: Mr. M. Mulaudzi (continues as Acting principal), Mr. N. S. Govender (Acting Deputy Principal) and Ms. A. Masango (Acting Departmental Head – Humanities). We wish our colleagues all the best in their new roles.

  1. ROTATIONAL (ALTERNATION) TIMETABLE CONTINUES

Parents and learners are instructed to continue to follow the current rotational (alternation) timetable provided until official communication is received from the District office about learners returning to school daily. Group A will come to school on Monday (07/02/2022 – follow Day 5). Group B will come to school on Tuesday (08/02/2022 – follow Day 5).

  1. TERM 1 ASSESSMENT PLANS

The cycle test is suspended for Term 1. Learners received their Term 1 Assessment plans last week. Parents and learners are instructed to closely monitor due dates in order to be prepared for assessment submissions or tests. Parents are instructed to closely monitor learners’ notebooks. Incomplete and substandard work will not be tolerated. Parents must regularly check comments written by educators.

  1. APPLICATIONS FOR SCHOOL FEES EXEMPTION

Qualifying parents/guardians who wish to apply for school fees exemption are requested to collect an application form from the Credit Control office from Friday, 04 February 2022. All accompanying documents that are certified should not be older than one month. The application period will conclude on the 28th of February 2022. No late applications will be accepted.

  1. DISTRICT ATHLETICS

We extend congratulations to all our athletes who have been selected to represent Midrand Primary school at the District Athletics. Consent forms must be returned to school. We thank our coaches, Mr. Sikhosana and Mrs. Stokes as well as all our educators and assistants for supporting our athletes. All the best to our athletes for the District Athletics that will take place on the 11th of February 2022.

  1. REMINDER: UNIFORM SALES

The uniform shop will operate strictly between 7:30 – 10:30 Monday – Friday as from 31 January 2022.

  1. REMINDER: COMPULSORY TEXTBOOK DEPOSIT FOR GRADE 4 LEARNERS

Parents of learners in Grade 4 are reminded to pay the compulsory textbook deposit of R300 that is now overdue if they haven’t done so already. Learners received a letter in this regard last year. Textbooks will be taken away if the compulsory deposit is not paid. Parents will be refunded when learners exit the school, provided that all the textbooks issued are returned in good condition.

  1. FINAL REMINDER: COMPULSORY SCHOOL DIARY

Grade 3-7 parents are reminded that learners must have the compulsory school diary. The school diary costs R60 and is available for purchase from the finance window. The diary is used to note homework and for communication between parents and educators. It is also compulsory for parents to communicate reasons for learners’ being absent from school via the school diary.

  1. REMINDER: ALL COVID-19 PROTOCOLS MUST BE ADHERED TO

Amid the tragic fourth wave of the Covid-19 pandemic, we implore all learners and parents to strictly comply with all protocols and regulations related to Covid-19. Learners will not be allowed to enter the school premises without wearing a facemask. Facemasks WILL NOT be provided by the school should learners forget their masks at home. Extra masks should be brought to school as a precaution in case the elastic breaks. Learners who display Covid-19 symptoms should remain at home and parents should seek urgent medical attention. During screening, any learner who presents Covid-19 symptoms will be sent home. Their parents will be contacted to fetch them immediately. We remind everyone to constantly sanitize or wash their hands with soap and water; and to observe social distancing.

  1. SCHOOL TIMES

Parents and learners are reminded of the school times noted below. Screening takes place between 07:00 – 07:45 every day.

There will be no waiting class for Foundation Phase learners. Learners must be fetched immediately after school.

  1. SCHOOL FEES

We urge parents to take advantage of a massive 10% discount if fees are settled by 31 March 2022. All parents are requested to ensure that their school fees account is up to date. School fees can be paid at the school’s finance office using debit or credit card or by direct deposit into the school’s bank account. No cash will be accepted.
