  1. SGB BY-ELECTIONS

An SMS link containing an invitation letter to attend the SGB By-elections was sent to all parents on the 21st of February 2022. The nomination and election of ONE parent member will be conducted. The SGB by-elections will take place on the 15th of March 2022 at 17:30 in the school hall. Nomination forms can be collected from the front office during school hours.

  1. RESULTS OF THE INTER-SCHOOL ATHLETICS COMPETITION

On the 11th of February 2022, a team of 85 athletes from Midrand Primary school competed in the annual Inter-school’s athletics competition held at Halfway House primary school. It was a tough and competitive day for our athletes, but they competed with determination. We are proud to announce that 30 of our athletes will be proceeding to the District trials, winning 23 gold medals. We are proud of our learners and the way they have performed, especially because it has been two years since we have competed in athletics. We wish our athletics team all the best for the next round.

  1. FEEDBACK: FUNDRAISING – VALENTINES BALL & CIVVIES DAY

We would like to extend our heartfelt appreciation to all our parents and learners for their participation in the fundraising initiatives of the school. The event was a success, and we thank all our staff members who were involved for their hard work and commitment. We look forward to the continued support of our learners and parents in future fundraising events.

  1. REMINDER: STANDARD OPERATING PROCEDURES (2022) – VISITORS AT SCHOOL

Parents and guardians are advised that no parent/guardian will be allowed on the school premises without officially making an appointment with a staff member via the school diary. The appointment has to be acknowledged and signed by the staff member. Proof will be required at the gate in order to enter the school premises. Appointments must be of an urgent or necessary nature. Exceptions will be made for uniform sales and school fees payments only. We thank you for your compliance.

  1. REMINDER: LEARNER ABSENTEEISM

According to our school code of conduct which is included in learners’ compulsory school diary (page 7-8 and page 19), parents must inform the class teacher in the learners’ diary of valid reasons for absence. We remind parents/guardians that it is compulsory for learners to attend school on a daily basis, unless they are unwell or there is a family emergency. Absenteeism without a valid reason will not be tolerated.

  1. REMINDER: APPLICATIONS FOR SCHOOL FEES EXEMPTION

Qualifying parents/guardians who wish to apply for school fees exemption are requested to collect an application form from the Credit Control office. All accompanying documents that are certified should not be older than one month. The application period will conclude on the 28th of February 2022. No late applications will be accepted.

  1. REMINDER: UNIFORM SALES

The uniform shop will operate strictly between 7:30 – 10:30 Monday – Friday as from 31 January 2022.

  1. REMINDER: COVID-19 PROTOCOLS MUST BE ADHERED TO

Learners are reminded to wash their hands and sanitize regularly. A facemask must be worn at all times, except when eating. Parents of learners who are experiencing Covid-19 symptoms should seek medical attention. Learners should report to school when they have recovered.

  1. REMINDER: SCHOOL GATES

Please note that the turnstile gate on Karee Street is opened in the mornings and the afternoons for learners to use.

  1. SCHOOL FEES

We urge parents to take advantage of a massive 10% discount if fees are settled by 31 March 2022. All parents are requested to ensure that their school fees account is up to date. School fees can be paid at the school’s finance office using debit or credit card or by direct deposit into the school’s bank account. No cash will be accepted.
