  1. NEW APPLICATIONS FOR GRADES 2-7 (2023)

Applications for new admissions in Grades 2-7 for 2023 is now opened (09/05/2022 – 16/09/2022). Parents are welcome to apply at school between 09:00 and 13:00. Kindly ensure that the compulsory certified documents (not older than three months) are brought to school as listed below. No late applications will be accepted. Required documents: Certified copy of birth certificate, certified copy of parent’s ID’s, recent/latest school report, and municipality account/lease agreement. Please bring a black pen to complete the application form.

  1. GRADE 1 AND GRADE 8 APPLICATIONS FOR 2023

Applications for Grade 1 and Grade 8 admissions are done online and is not conducted internally at schools. Online applications will open on the 22nd of July 2022 at 08:00 and will close on the 19th of August 2022 at midnight. When applications open, parents can visit www.gdeadmissions.gov.za to apply.

  1. TEATRO EISTEDDFOD RESULTS

Our Visual Arts, Music, and Drama groups participated in the Teatro Eisteddfod on the 5th of May 2022. Congratulations to our coaches and their teams on achieving the following excellent results: Visual Arts: X10 A++ (pencil, pastel, painting, abstract, mixed media); Music: Marimba A++ and Recorder classic A++; Drama: Group Poetry A++, Dramatized poetry A++, Monologue A++, Dialogue A, Own choice Poetry A, and Public speaking A.

  1. ARTS & DRAMA COMPETITION AT DREAMHILL INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL

Congratulations to our extra mural coaches and their teams on achieving outstanding results at the Arts and Drama competition hosted by Dreamhill International school. The results were as follows: Visual Arts: 2 gold, 2 silver, 1 overall winner; Marimba: gold, Solo vocal gold, Solo vocal gold, and 1 overall winner; Group play gold, Public Speaking gold, and Poetry gold.

  1. REMINDER: INTERSEN PHASE CONTROLLED TESTS (MID-YEAR EXAMINATIONS)

Parents and learners are advised that the Controlled Test programme will commence on the 30th of May 2022. The Controlled test timetable will be issued next week. Therefore, it is vital for learners to ensure that their books are updated and corrections for activities are completed. Parents must monitor learners’ books to ensure that there are no incomplete activities. We encourage parents and learners to design a study timetable and adhere to it so that learners are adequately prepared for their tests. We implore learners to work harder this term so that better academic results are achieved.

  1. COVID-19 PROTOCOLS MUST BE ADHERED TO

According to the current SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) for schools, learners are expected to wear facemasks throughout the day, unless they are eating. This will continue until the DBE updates the SOPs. Thus, learners will continue to wear their facemasks when inside and outside the building. This will be revised once the updated SOPs are received from the DBE. Parents must ensure that learners wear a facemask when leaving home and have extras in their schoolbag. This will be strictly monitored. Learners are reminded to wash their hands and sanitize regularly. Parents of learners who are experiencing Covid-19 symptoms should seek medical attention. Learners should report to school when they have recovered.

  1. SCHOOL FEES

All parents are requested to ensure that their school fees account is up to date. School fees can be paid at the school’s finance office using debit or credit card or by direct deposit into the school’s bank account. No cash will be accepted.
