Parents are requested to attend the compulsory Parents’ Evening as follows: Foundation Phase – Grades 1-3 & LSEN (27/07/2022 from 16:00-18:00). - TERM 3 ASSESSMENT PLANS
Parents are advised that learners received the Term 3 Assessment plan this week. We remind parents and learners that this is the final term for learners to improve their academic results in the InterSen phase. It is vital for parents to monitor and assist learners to prepare for assessment tasks and tests. Due dates must be adhered to. Late submissions and tardy work will not be tolerated. There will be no Cycle Test programme this term – tests indicated on the assessment plan will be written during class time.
- GRADE 7 CAREER DAY
Grade 7 Career Day will be held on the 23rd of August 2022. Grade 7 learners are required to come to school dressed in the attire of the profession/career that they aspire to achieve in the future. A special assembly will be held, and learners will be addressed by a special guest speaker. This is not a civvies day. Learners are to be dressed appropriately and make-up will not be allowed.

- REMINDER: GRADE 1 AND GRADE 8 ONLINE APPLICATIONS FOR 2023
Applications for Grade 1 and Grade 8 admissions are done online and are not conducted internally at schools. Online applications are opened and will close on the 19th of August 2022 at midnight. Parents are advised to complete their applications immediately to try to avoid unwanted placements. Parents can visit www.gdeadmissions.gov.za to apply.
- REMINDER: FOUNDATION PHASE (GRADES 1-3 & LSEN) COMPULSORY WAITING CLASS
Parents are reminded of the compulsory waiting class from 13:00 for Foundation Phase learners. All Foundation Phase learners must be fetched from their classrooms by parents or transport operators. Learners will not be allowed to wait at the gate before 14:00.
- REMINDER: KAREE STREET GATE
Please note that the Karee Street gate will be open in the mornings and afternoons for drop off and collection of learners.
- REMINDER: STEEL LOCKERS
Learners will be allowed to make use of school lockers from the beginning of Term 3 at a leasing cost of R50 payable to class teachers. We encourage parents to lease a locker for learners as this will assist in reducing the weight in their school bags. We also advise parents that under no circumstances will educators tolerate the excuse of leaving or forgetting books in the locker (incomplete homework). Using the locker comes with the responsibility of following your timetable and recording homework activities in the compulsory school diary. This will assist in knowing which books should be stored in the locker. Lockers will be available for learners in Grades 4-7 only.
- SCHOOL FEES
All parents are requested to ensure that their school fees account is up to date. School fees can be paid at the school’s finance office using debit or credit card or by direct deposit into the school’s bank account. No cash will be accepted.
