  1. TERM 3 TEST PROGRAMME – INTERSEN PHASE

Parents and guardians of learners in the Intersen Phase (Grades 4-7) are hereby informed of the Test programme commencing in Week 7. The timetable will be issued next week. We encourage parents/guardians to construct a study programme for their children and strictly monitor their study sessions. Kindly note that tests will not be written for all subjects as other subjects have other forms of assessment. For Foundation Phase learners (Grades 1-3 & LSEN), assessment is continuous, therefore, learners must be present at school daily. We remind learners to adequately prepare for all assessment tasks and we wish them all the best.

  1. CONCERNS ABOUT LEARNER SAFETY AFTER SCHOOL

Parents and guardians are hereby reminded that learners must be fetched immediately after school. Learners who have consent to participate in extra-curricular activities must also be fetched immediately after those activities are done. We have noticed a trend of learners being fetched very late and we remind parents that the school will not be accountable for incidents that occur after school hours. Therefore, we implore parents to fetch their children IMMEDIATELY after school. We thank you for your co-operation.

  1. USE OF THE PARKING BAYS

We remind parents/guardians to make use of the allocated parking bays outside the school. Parents, guardians or transports operators who consistently disobey the rules of the road by stopping on the road to drop off learners will be reported to law enforcement agencies. For the safety of every learner, we expect parents, guardians, and transport operators to adhere to the aforementioned rules of the road.

  1. STAFF MATTERS

We would like to welcome Mrs. P. de Meyer who will be teaching Grade 1 learners. We wish her all the best.

We apologize for any inconvenience caused.

  1. WAITING AREAS TO BE USED FROM TERM 4

Learners who are not fetched by 14:00 must wait at the Poplar Street waiting area at the bottom gate. The previous Foundation Phase gate will no longer be used to exit the school in the afternoons. Grade 4-7 learners must be fetched from the compulsory waiting area at the bottom gate on Poplar Street after school. We emphasize that learners must be fetched IMMEDIATELY after school. Loitering after school will not be tolerated.

  1. COMMEMORATION OF MANDELA DAY AT MPS

In commemoration of Mandela Day, we will be running our annual Mandela Day Book Drive which was initiated in 2022. With this in mind and our need to improve literacy and reading skills in our country, we encourage parents to support our school by donating pre-loved story books / novels (in good condition) or purchasing at least one (or more) children’s story books / novels in contribution to our MANDELA DAY BOOK DRIVE.  Companies are also welcome to donate books. These books will be used to furnish our Media Centre for our learners to enjoy. The Book Drive will start immediately and will run until the end of Term 4. The class that collects the most books by the end of Term 3 will get to have a FREE CIVVIES DAY. The same will apply at the end of Term 4. Let us join hands in enriching the lives of our future leaders.
