  1. FINAL REMINDER: COMPULSORY PARENTS’ MEETING

The newly elected School Governing Body (SGB) invites all parents/guardians to attend a compulsory parents’ meeting to be held this evening, the 9th of May 2024 at 17:00 sharp in the school hall. Among others, the 2023 academic results will be presented to parents. Key concerns that affect academic performance will be addressed as well as vital support and monitoring strategies for parents. We implore all parents/guardians to avail themselves for this compulsory meeting. A register will be taken.

 

  1. GRADE 4 – 7 DAY TRIPS (EXCURSIONS)

Please take note of the information below pertaining to Day trips. We inform parents that their school fees account must be up to date before making payments for Day trips. Payments must be made on the Karri App or via EFT (Reference: Day trip, grade, your child’s name, and surname).

  1. GRADE 2-7 NEW APPLICATIONS FOR 2025

Applications for new admissions in Grades 2-7 for 2025 commenced on the 15th of April 2024 and will conclude on the 16th of August 2024. Parents are welcome to apply at school between 09:00 and 13:00. Kindly ensure that the compulsory certified documents (not older than three months) are brought to school as listed below. No late applications will be accepted. Required documents: Certified copy of birth certificate, certified copy of parent’s ID’s, recent/latest school report, and municipality account/lease agreement. Please bring a black pen to complete the application form.

 

  1. SPORTS AND EXTA-MURALS

 

CHESS:

17 learners attended a cluster individual chess competition at Houghton Primary School on 03/05/2024 and we are proud to announce that 7 of our learners will proceed to the district level. We wish them the best of luck! We thank their chess teachers, Mrs. Mapiravana and Ms. De Jong for their guidance and supportive coaching.

 

WAG GYMNASTICS:

Our gymnastics team participated in the WAG competition held on 03-04/04/2024. We are glad to announce that 19 of our gymnasts have qualified for provincials and our gold medallists have earned their Provincials Colours. Congratulations to the team and their coach, Mrs. Stokes-Thubakgale. Results: Gold medals – 10, silver medals – 2, and bronze medals – 8.
