- REMINIDER: COMPULSORY PARENTS’ EVENING – TERM 4 2024
Parents and guardians are invited to attend the Term four COMPULSORY Parents’ Evening that will take place this evening, the 10th of October 2024 strictly from 16:00 – 18:00 (no late comers). Parents will have the opportunity to view learners’ Term three assessments and set academic targets for Term four. Parents will also have the opportunity to discuss academic results with subject educators.
- REMINDER OF THE AGM FOR 2024
Parents and guardians are reminded to attend the AGM which will be held on the 24th of October 2024 at 17:00. Parents/guardians are welcome to come to school and view the proposed budget for 2025. It is imperative that parents/guardians attend this important meeting.
- TERM 4 ASSESSMENT PLANS
Parents and guardians are hereby notified that all learners received the Term 4 Assessment Plan. Parents and guardians are expected to check and sign the Assessment Plan. It is advisable for parents and guardians to assist learners to structure an effective and workable study timetable and plan for upcoming due dates. The Intersen Phase (Grades 4-7) final examination timetable will be issued next week. Assessment in the Foundation Phase (Grades 1-3 & LSEN) are continuous. We encourage learners to study and prepare adequately for their finals! We wish our learners all the best for their finals.
- REMINDER: WAITING AREAS TO BE USED FROM TERM 4
Parents/guardians are hereby reminded that Grade 1-3 & LSEN learners must be fetched from the compulsory waiting area at the Karee Steet entrance until 14:00. The Karee Street Gate will be locked at 14:30. The previous Foundation Phase gate will no longer be used to exit the school in the afternoons. Grade 4-7 learners will exit the Poplar Street gate after school. We emphasize that learners must be fetched IMMEDIATELY after school. Loitering after school will not be tolerated. All learners who are not fetched on time will be sent to the Poplar Street waiting area at the bottom gate where they must be fetched.
- REMINDER: MANDELA DAY BOOK DRIVE TERM 4
Parents and learners are reminded that the Mandela Day Book Drive continues in Term 4. We encourage parents to donate as many books as possible. A free Civvies Day is up for grabs for the Foundation Phase and Intersen Phase class that collects the highest number of books. We thank parents and learners for their donations thus far. A reading nation is a leading nation.
- RE-REGISTRATIONS FOR 2025
The closing date for re-registration was the 04th of October 2024 and the closing date for re-registration payments of R2000.00 will be on the 30th of November 2024. School fees need to be paid in full or the necessary payment arrangements must be made by the 30th of October 2024. Parents/guardians who are experiencing difficulties registering online are welcome to come to school for assistance. We thank our parents/guardians for their continued co-operation.
- REMINDER: KAREE STREET GATE
The Karee Street gate will be locked promptly at 07:30 and at 14:30. After these times the Poplar Street gate must be used. The Karee Street gate may not be used by parents to access the school.
- EXTRA-MURAL RESULTS AND ANNOUNCEMENTS
- STORY SKIRMISH COMPETITION RESULTS: On the 8th of October 2024 the following learners competed in the third round (Regionals) of the Story Skirmish competition at River Park Library: Karabo Mokoena, Wamashudu Masevhe, Refentse Sephadi, Tlholo Sepolwane, Kamogelo Mogaila, Ronewa Nematoka, Angel Nghonyama and Juwon Osundiran. The team obtained second place, and we would like to congratulate them on this outstanding milestone. We thank their coach and facilitator, Mrs. Mahlangu for her dedication and support.
- GYM GAMES (NATIONALS) RESULTS: During the September holidays, the high-level Gymnastic team was yet again showcasing their incredible talent by taking part at the Gym Games (Nationals) in Cape Town. Congratulations to our higher-level gymnasts, namely, Level 4: Koketso Mohlake (1st position), Level 5: Phatsimo Moumakwe (1st position) and Havilah Dupya (4th position). It is evident that dedication contributes towards spectacular results! Well done to the team and their coaches for their outstanding performance.
- GYMNASTICS TRIALS: It might be your turn to join the gymnastics team for 2025. Mrs Stokes-Thubakgale will be hosting gymnastics trials in the school hall on the following dates: 24/10 (Grade 4-6; 14h00 – 15h30) and 25/10 (Grade 1-3; 13h00 – 14h00). Learners are to wear appropriate gym attire for trials. Results will only be communicated with successful candidates a week after the trial date.
- SCHOOL FEES
All parents are requested to ensure that their school fees account is up to date. School fees can be paid at the school’s finance office using debit or credit card or by direct deposit into the school’s bank account. No cash will be accepted.
