- ATHLETICS PROVINCIAL COMPETITION RESULTS
The Gauteng Provincial Athletics competition was held on the 8th and 9th of March 2024. Our athletes did their best and performed well. The trials spanned two days, with the first day (8th) dedicated to heats and quarter finals, while the second day focused on semi-finals and finals. The following students have qualified to represent our district (D9) at Gauteng Provincials: Ozioma Eze (SP), Keitumetse Moeketsi (LJ), Phatsimo Moumakwe (HJ, LJ), Malachi Arendse (80m, 100m, HJ), and Luthando Mcaba (HJ). Each athlete showcased remarkable courage and enthusiasm. Four of our athletes successfully reached their respective finals, and we’re particularly proud of Phatsimo Moumakwe, who secured 1st place in the long jump for the u/13 girls’ category. Phatsimo Moumakwe will proceed to represent Gauteng at the upcoming SA SCHOOLS ATHLETICS PRIMARY TRACK AND FIELD CHAMPIONSHIPS (Nationals). We extend our best wishes to her as she carries the Midrand Primary flag high in this prestigious competition. We thank Mr. Sikhosana, the Sports master, for his dedication and commitment to the team.
