- TERM 3 TEST TIMETABLE & PROGRAMME – INTERSEN PHASE
Parents and guardians of learners in the Intersen Phase (Grades 4-7) are reminded about the Test programme commencing next week. The timetable was issued to learners on 14/08/2024. We encourage parents/guardians to construct a study programme for their children and strictly monitor their study sessions. Kindly note that tests will not be written for all subjects as other subjects have other forms of assessment. For Foundation Phase learners (Grades 1-3 & LSEN), assessment is continuous, therefore, learners must be present at school daily. We remind learners to adequately prepare for all assessment tasks and we wish them all the best. Note that normal teaching and learning will be taking place until the last day of school and all learners must be present. Kindly take note of the Test timetable below:

The Grade 7 Career dress-up day and special assembly will take place on the 20th of August 2024 (07:30). Letters were issued to Grade 7 learners on the 13/08/2024. A special guest has been invited to inspire and motivate our learners. Grade 7 learners will come to school dressed in the attire of their prospective future career choice. Grade 4-6 learners will wear their correct school uniform. Civvies and make-up will not be allowed on the day. Learners must be dressed respectably in professional career-related attire. We look forward to this special day with our Grade 7s.
- REMINDER: MARKET DAY AND SPRING (CIVVIES) DAY
Parents/guardians and learners are reminded about the Market Day and Spring (Civvies) Day to be held on the 30th of August 2024. Learners are encouraged to bring pocket money to support our Grade 7 young entrepreneurs who will be selling various goodies/products. Grade 1-6 learners can wear their Civvies at a cost of R20 payable on the Karri app.
- WAITING AREAS TO BE USED FROM TERM 4
Parents/guardians are hereby informed of the following: Grade 1-3 & LSEN learners must be fetched from the compulsory waiting area at the Karee Steet entrance until 14:00. Learners who are not fetched by 14:00 must wait at the Poplar Street waiting area at the bottom gate. The previous Foundation Phase gate will no longer be used to exit the school in the afternoons. Grade 4-7 learners must be fetched from the compulsory waiting area at the bottom gate on Poplar Street after school. We emphasize that learners must be fetched IMMEDIATELY after school. Loitering after school will not be tolerated.
- REMINDER: CANCELLATION OF THE GRADE 7 OVERNIGHT CAMP
Parents and guardians of learners in Grade 7 are reminded that due to unforeseen circumstances, the Grade 7 overnight camp has been cancelled. Parents who have made payment must communicate with the finance office about refunds or if they would like to allocate the funds to their school fees account. We apologize for any inconvenience caused.
- FINAL REMINDER: TUCKSHOP ORDERS
To avoid learners not receiving food on time, all tuckshop orders must please be placed on the Karri app before 7:30am each morning. Orders placed after 7:30am will unfortunately not be accepted.
- FINAL REMINDER: USE OF THE PARKING BAYS
We remind parents/guardians to make use of the allocated parking bays outside the school. Parents, guardians or transports operators who consistently disobey the rules of the road by stopping on the road to drop off learners will be reported to law enforcement agencies. For the safety of every learner, we expect parents, guardians, and transport operators to adhere to the aforementioned rules of the road.
- COMMEMORATION OF MANDELA DAY AT MPS
In commemoration of Mandela Day, we will be running our annual Mandela Day Book Drive which was initiated in 2022. With this in mind and our need to improve literacy and reading skills in our country, we encourage parents to support our school by donating pre-loved story books / novels (in good condition) or purchasing at least one (or more) children’s story books / novels in contribution to our MANDELA DAY BOOK DRIVE. Companies are also welcome to donate books. These books will be used to furnish our Media Centre for our learners to enjoy. The Book Drive will start immediately and will run until the end of Term 4. The class that collects the most books by the end of Term 3 will get to have a FREE CIVVIES DAY. The same will apply at the end of Term 4. Let us join hands in enriching the lives of our future leaders.
