  1. WELCOME TO THE ACADEMIC YEAR OF 2024!

On behalf of the SGB, management and staff of Midrand Primary School, it is our great privilege and honor to welcome you to the academic year of 2024! We hope that you have had an enjoyable festive season and that you are well rested too. A special word of welcome to all our new parents who have joined our family this year. We look forward to establishing strong and long-lasting relationships with you as we embark on the educational journey of developing, nurturing, and preparing your child for the challenging world ahead! To our existing parents, we look forward to continue working with you, as we add another exciting chapter to the life of our great institution. We implore our parent community to take ownership of their children’s education to ensure that they achieve great results. We are convinced that strong, healthy, and working partnerships with you will have a positive influence on your children’s education. We thank you for your support and we look forward to working with you. All the best for term one!

  1. ENTRANCE & EXIT FOR GRADE 1 LEARNERS

Parents and guardians of Grade 1 learners are reminded that they MUST make use of the Karee Street gate ONLY in the mornings and after school. We thank you for your co-operation.

Grade 1 learners will be released at 12:00 daily until further notice. There will be compulsory waiting class for Foundation Phase learners where they will wait TO BE SIGNED OUT by parents/transport operators.

 

  1. INCIDENTS OF REMOTE JAMMING REPORTED OUTSIDE MPS

Parents and guardians are advised to be vigilant in the parking lot as cases of remote jamming have been reported. We implore parents to check that their vehicles are securely locked.

 

  1. LTSM LOAN FORMS

Grade 4-7 learners received an LTSM loan form that must be completed by parents and returned to the class teacher by learners. Parents must thoroughly check learners’ textbooks to ensure that the correct information is recorded regarding the condition of the textbooks. Parents will be liable to pay a fee of R250 per textbook if textbooks are lost or damaged. Textbooks will be retrieved from learners on Monday if loan forms are not returned to school. Loan forms are due on Monday, 22 January 2024.

 

  1. COMPULSORY TEXTBOOK DEPOSIT FOR ALL GRADE 4 LEARNERS

Parents are reminded to pay a refundable textbook deposit of R400 for their children on or before 31 January 2024.

 

  1. STATIONERY ITEMS

Parents must ensure that learners attend school with the stationery items indicated on the stationery list. All stationery items must be labelled with learners’ details. Compulsory items to be submitted to class teachers: Typek paper, boxes of tissue and rolls of toilet paper, and liquid hand soap. Flip files must also be submitted to subject teachers in Grade 4-7 for assessment files. Parents who did not submit stationery items have until the 26th of January 2024 to submit ALL outstanding stationery items.

 

  1. COMPULSORY SCHOOL DIARY

Grade 3-7 parents are reminded that learners must have the compulsory school diary. The school diary costs R65 and is available for purchase from the finance window. Learners are expected to read the school code of conduct in the school diary. Homework must be recorded in the diary daily.

 

  1. SCHOOL UNIFORM

Learners must be attired in the correct and full summer school uniform daily. We expect our learners to be neatly groomed and presentable at all times. Please consult the school diary for the summer uniform for boys and girls. Except for female prefects, girls are not allowed to wear white socks. All boys are expected to wear a black belt with their khaki school pants.

 

  1. SCHOOL FEES

We urge parents to take advantage of a massive 10% discount if fees are settled by 31 March 2024. All parents are requested to ensure that their school fees account is up to date. School fees can be paid at the school’s finance office using debit or credit card or by direct deposit into the school’s bank account. No cash will be accepted.
