  1. CLOSURE OF SCHOOL

Parents, guardians and learners are hereby informed that school will be closed from Monday, the 28th of April 2025 until Friday, the 2nd of May 2025 due to both public holidays and the DBE’s allocation of school holidays. Learners must report to school on Monday, the 5th of May 2025. We wish our staff, learners and parents a safe and enjoyable short break.

 

  1. PARENTS’ MEETING & SGB BI-ELECTIONS

Parents and guardians are hereby invited to attend the parents’ meeting and the SGB bi-elections on the 22nd of May 2025 at 17:00 and 18:00 respectively. During the parents’ meeting, the SGB will present the schools’ academic results for 2024 among other matters. The SGB bi-election which commences at 18:00 has been initiated due to a parent member who is no longer available to serve in the school SGB. All the best to parents/guardians who are interested in serving in the SGB.

 

  1. GRADE 4 – 7 DAY TRIPS (EXCURSIONS)

Please take note of the information below pertaining to Day trips. We inform parents that their school fees account must be up to date before making payments for Day trips. Payments must be made on the Karri App ONLY.

  1. FANTASIA

We are excited to announce that our annual Fantasia will take place on the 9th of May 2025. There will be a host of fun rides, activities and entertainment for our learners to enjoy. The entrance fee is R110 payable on the Karri App. No cash will be accepted at school. We look forward to enjoying this fun-filled day with our learners. Not more than R50 should be brought for pocket money.

 

  1. DEVOTED CITIZEN CLEANING DRIVE

Parents, learners and staff members are invited to participate in a Cleaning Drive initiated by Devoted Citizen which is an NGO. This drive will take place on the 26th of April 2025 from 09:00 – 11:00. We encourage our school community to participate in this noble initiative.

  1. ONLINE GRADE 2-7 NEW APPLICATIONS FOR 2026

Applications for new admissions in Grades 2-7 for 2026 will now be conducted online and opens on the 22nd of April 2025 and will conclude on the 22nd of August 2025. To apply, parents/guardians must go to our school website (www.midrandprimary.co.za) and click on the admissions tab. Required documents: Certified copy of birth certificate, certified copy of parent’s ID’s, recent/latest school report, municipality account/lease agreement, and the clinic card/records. Kindly ensure that the compulsory certified documents (not older than three months) are scanned and uploaded. No late applications will be accepted.

 

  1. REMINDER: FOUNDATION PHASE ON CUE THEATRE SHOW: ARTHUR & THE BLACK PANTHER

The above-mentioned show will take place at 08:30am in our school hall on the 13th of May 2025. The cost of the show is R50pp payable on the Karri app. This is the last show for the year, so we implore all Foundation Phase (Grades 1-3 & LSEN) parents/guardians to pay for this spectacular show.

 

  1. REMINDER: PLACING OF LUNCH ORDERS ON THE KARRI APP

Parents, guardians and learners are hereby informed that all lunch orders must be placed by 07:30am daily. Note that the ordering of lunch option will be disabled immediately at 07:30 daily and parents will no longer be able to place an order. Also note that parents/guardians must adhere to the correct daily menu options provided. We thank you for your co-operation.

 

  1. LATE COMING WILL NOT BE TOLERATED

Parents/guardians are reminded that the school day commences promptly at 07:30. Learners should be seated in their respective classes at this time. Late coming will not be tolerated as we expect our learners to be punctual and ready to learn. The names of late comers are recorded, and these learners will receive defaults. Regular late comers will be suspended from school.

 

  1. SCHOOL FEES

All parents are requested to ensure that their school fees account is up to date. School fees can be paid at the school’s finance office using debit or credit card or by direct deposit into the school’s bank account. No cash will be accepted.
