NEWSLETTER

  1. INTERSEN PHASE (GRADES 4-7) CYCLE TEST PROGRAMME

Parents and learners are reminded about the Cycle test programme that will commence on the 03rd of March 2025 and will conclude on the 14th of March 2025. A copy of the timetable was issued to learners last week Friday. In order for learners to produce good results, parents must ensure that learners revise and prepare adequately. Please note that there will be tests for some subjects only, as other subjects will be assessed with other forms of assessment which is prescribed in subject Annual Teaching Plans (ATPs). Teaching and learning will continue as per normal until the end of the term. All the best to our learners for the test programme.

  1. CIVVIES DAY

Learners will be allowed to wear civvies to school on the 28th of February 2025 at a cost of R25 payable only on the Karri app or EFT. We remind parents to ensure that learners come to school respectfully and modestly dressed, being fully clothed. Make-up and jewellery are NOT permissible!

  1. FETCHING OF LEARNERS IMMEDIATELY AFTER SCHOOL

Parents/guardians and transport operators are hereby notified that all learners must be fetched immediately after school. No learners are allowed on or outside the school premises after school hours, unless there is a valid consent form for extra-murals. We implore all parents/guardians and transport operators to ensure that they comply as we aim to ensure the safety of our learners. The school will not be liable for incidents that occur after school hours. Parents must drop/fetch learners at the gate, except when it is raining. Failure to comply with this resolution by any individual contravenes school rules. Your co-operation is highly appreciated

  1. MONITORING OF THE ASSESSMENT PLAN & HOMEWORK

We implore parents/guardians to monitor the assessment plan issued to learners so that all assessment tasks, projects, and assignments are handed in on time. We expect your co-operation in this regard. We urge parents and guardians to monitor learners’ books to ensure that all classwork and homework activities are up to date. Incomplete activities disadvantage learners and create academic backlogs which result in poor academic results. Strict monitoring at home on a daily basis will assist teachers to move progressively with the very lengthy syllabi at school.

  1. ON CUE THEATRE SHOW ON BULLYISM

As stated in the previous newsletter (06/25), Midrand Primary School takes bullyism as a serious scourge that needs to be addressed in our society and schools because if unattended, results thereof can be catastrophic. We would like to thank all the parents who paid for their children to attend the show on “bullyism” which took place on last week Tuesday. Once again, please request your child to give you feedback from their show experience – the aim is to internalise new knowledge acquired at the show. Please note that parents who did not pay for their children should still do so. All learners were allowed to attend (with the aim of solving the problem holistically). The final day for the R50 payment is the 28th February 2025. All payments should be made through the Karri App or EFT, using the school account details and your child’s name and surname as reference.
