1. SCHOOL FEES

All parents are requested to ensure that their school fees account is up to date. School fees can be paid at the school’s finance office using debit or credit card or by direct deposit into the school’s bank account. No cash will be accepted. NB: Please use the correct references when making deposits.

2. TERM 3 COMPULSORY PARENTS’ EVENING

Kindly take note that the Term 3 compulsory Parents’ Evening will take place this evening, the 31^ST of July 2025 strictly from 16:00–18:00 (no late comers). Parents will have the opportunity to view learners’ assessments, to see/discuss cumulative defaults, to set academic targets for Term 3 as well as to discuss their child’s performance with subject teachers. It is vital for at least one parent/guardian to attend this important meeting. We thank you for your co-operation.

 

3. PYJAMA DAY

Our annual Pyjama Day will take place tomorrow, the 01^st of August 2025. Learners can come to school dressed snuggly in their WINTER pyjamas at a cost of R30 payable only on the Karri App. NO CIVVIES ARE ALLOWED ON THIS DAY! We encourage our learners not to miss out on the fun!

 

4. GRADE 4-7 OVERNIGHT CAMPS

Parents and guardians are hereby informed of the Grade 4-7 overnight camps. Please note that for learners to attend camp, their school fees account must be up to date. All payments must be made on the Karri App. Kindly note that there are limited spaces based on first-come first-served basis. The deposit fee of R1000 is due today, 31 July 2025. The cut-off date for the full payment is the 05^th of September 2025 after which NO PAYMENTS WILL BE ACCEPTED! Parents are encouraged to pay in instalments (June, July and August) after the payment of the deposit. Kindly note that there will be no water-related activities and all camps have received approval from the GDE. Individual letters will be issued with specific details for each grade. Please take note of the overview of the camp details below:

5. GRADE 7 CAREER DRESS-UP DAY & SPECIAL ASSEMBLY

The Grade 7 Career dress-up day and special assembly will take place on the 26^th of August 2025 (07:30). Letters will be issued today. A special guest has been invited to inspire and motivate our learners. Grade 7 learners will come to school dressed in the attire of their prospective future career choice. Grade 4-6 learners will wear their correct school uniform. Civvies and make-up will not be allowed on the day. Learners must be dressed respectably in PROFESSIONAL career-related attire. We look forward to this special day with our Grade 7’s.

 

 

6. ONLINE GRADE 2-7 NEW APPLICATIONS FOR 2026

Applications for new admissions in Grades 2-7 for 2026 are conducted online and opened on the 22^nd of April 2025 and will conclude on the 22^nd of August 2025. To apply, parents/guardians must go to our school website (www.midrandprimary.co.za) and click on the admissions tab. Required documents: Certified copy of birth certificate, certified copy of parent’s ID’s, recent/latest school report, municipality account/lease agreement, and the clinic card/records. Kindly ensure that the compulsory certified documents (not older than three months) are scanned and uploaded. No late applications will be accepted.

 

7. GRADE 1 AND GRADE 8 ONLINE APPLICATIONS FOR 2026

Applications for Grade 1 and Grade 8 admissions are done online and are NOT conducted internally at schools. Online applications will opened on the 24^th of July 2025 and will close on the 29^th of August 2025 at midnight. We implore parents to apply early to avoid placement issues. Parents/guardians can visit www.gdeadmissions.gov.za to apply.

 

8. COMMEMORATION OF MANDELA DAY AT MPS

In commemoration of Mandela Day, we will be running our annual Mandela Day Book Drive which was initiated in 2022. With this in mind and our need to improve literacy and reading skills in our country, we encourage parents to support our school by donating pre-loved story books / novels (in good condition) or purchasing at least one (or more) children’s story books / novels in contribution to our MANDELA DAY BOOK DRIVE.  Companies/businesses are also welcome to donate books. These books will be used to furnish our Media Centre for our learners to enjoy. The Book Drive will start immediately and will run until the end of Term 4. The class that collects the most books by the end of Term 3 will get to have a FREE CIVVIES DAY. The same will apply at the end of Term 4. Let us join hands in enriching the lives of our future leaders.

 

9. LTSM SUPPLIERS

Midrand Primary is requesting companies that supply stationery, classroom resources, library materials and library books to please submit their business profiles, CSD certificate, and tax compliance certificate to mandy@midrandprimary.co.za on or before the 8^th of August 2025. 

 

10. MENTORSHIP FOR BOYS PROGRAMME AT MPS

MPS has partnered with the Brian Molapisane Foundation who are offering their mentorship services to our Intersen boys (Grades 4-7) FREE OF CHARGE! The foundation is an NPO (Number: 307-304 NPO) whose main goal is to develop and support boys from local communities. The programme will assist boys in leadership development, character building, personal hygiene, responsibility, and so much more. This extra-mural programme will run weekly on Wednesdays from 14:00-15:00 in C17. Parents who’d like their child to participate can request a consent form on the information letter that will be issued today. The earlier we shape the character of boys, the better it will be when they become men.
