1. PARENTS’ MEETING FEEDBACK

We wish to express our sincere gratitude to the parents/guardians who attended the Parents’ Meeting last week. The meeting was fruitful and engaging. We encourage parents/guardians to continue to be actively involved within our school community.

 

2. TERM 2 ASSESSMENT

Parents, guardians and learners are reminded to adhere to the Assessment Plan provided. Intersen Phase (Grades 4-7) Controlled Tests commenced on 01 June 2026 and will conclude on the 12 June 2026. The test timetable is attached on the last page. Assessment in Foundation Phase (Grades 1-3 & LSEN) is continuous. Therefore, learners must be present daily. To see improvement in results, parents/guardians and learners must develop study timetables and prepare adequately as ample notice has been given. Study times must be structured, monitored and assessed by parents/guardians. We also request that strict measures are put in place to ensure that learners’ books are updated with all activities. We implore parents/guardians to please monitor their child’s books. We wish our learners all the best!

 

3. TEXTBOOK RETRIEVAL

Kindly take note that textbooks will be retrieved daily after each test is written. A payment of R250 will be levied for textbooks that are lost or have been damaged, payable immediately. We encourage learners and parents to ensure that textbooks are taken care of as they are the property of the state.

 

4. GRADE 4 – 7 DAY TRIPS (EXCURSIONS)

Please take note of the information below pertaining to Day trips. We inform parents that their school fees account MUST BE UP TO DATE before making payments for Day trips. Payments must be made on the Karri App ONLY. The cutoff date is 09/06/2026.

5. ONLINE GRADE 2-7 NEW APPLICATIONS FOR 2027

Applications for new admissions in Grades 2-7 for 2027 is conducted online and opened on the 24^TH of April 2026 and will conclude on the 28^TH of August 2026. To apply, parents/guardians must go to our school website (www.midrandprimary.co.za) and click on the admissions tab. Required documents: Certified copy of birth certificate, certified copy of parent’s ID’s, recent/latest school report, municipality account/lease agreement, and the clinic card/records. Compulsory certified documents (not older than three months) must be scanned and uploaded. Late applications will not be accepted.

 

 

 

 

 

 

6. REMINDER: THE FETCHING OF LEARNERS IMMEDIATELY AFTER SCHOOL

Parents/guardians and transport operators are reminded that all learners must be fetched immediately after school. No learners are allowed on or outside the school premises after school hours, unless there is a valid consent form for extra-murals. We implore all parents/guardians and transport operators to ensure that they comply as we aim to ensure the safety of our learners. The school will not be liable for incidents that occur after school hours. Thank you for your co-operation.

 

7. USE OF THE CORRECT WINTER UNIFORM

Parents and guardians are hereby reminded that learners must use the correct Winter school uniform. When learners wear their school tracksuits, they must wear school shoes. The only time takkies are permitted is during PE lessons. This means that learners are not allowed to wear takkies to school. Furthermore, the takkies must be BLACK OR WHITE as per the Code of Conduct. Fancy colourful sneakers are not allowed. Learners are also expected to wear maroon beanies, gloves, and scarves (All 3 items cost R220 and are available at the uniform shop). Other colours of beanies, gloves, and scarves are not allowed. For girls, ONLY long blue socks OR black stockings must be used. Only Grade 1-3 & LSEN learners are allowed to wear their PE uniform and takkies from home. We also remind learners that blankets and hot water bottles are NOT allowed at school and we appeal to parents to prevent learners from bringing these items to school. This will be strictly monitored. We expect your co-operation in this regard!

 

8. REMINDER: DROPPING OFF LUNCH/BOOKS/ITEMS AT SCHOOL

We remind parents/guardians that dropping off of lunch/meals, books, uniform, projects or other items for learners is strictly prohibited. We expect our learners to be responsible and not leave their lunches/meals at home. We also remind parents to ensure that learners are organized and prepared the day before so that they do not forget to bring their books and assessments/projects to school as per their timetables and assessment plans. This has been effected due to learner safety concerns and we expect our parents and guardians to co-operate with the school.

 

9. SCHOOL FEES

Midrand Primary school is a Quintile 5 school, which means that it is a fee-paying school. All parents are requested to ensure that their school fees account is up to date. School fees can be paid at the school’s finance office using debit or credit card or by direct deposit into the school’s bank account. No cash will be accepted.
