  1. SCHOOL FEES

All parents are requested to ensure that their school fees account is up to date. School fees can be paid at the school’s finance office using debit or credit card or by direct deposit into the school’s bank account. No cash will be accepted. NB: Please use the correct references when making deposits.

  1. CLOSURE OF SCHOOL FOR TERM 2 – ISSUING OF PROGRESS REPORTS

Parents, guardians, and learners are hereby informed that Term 2 will conclude tomorrow, on the 27TH of June 2025. Progress reports will be issued to PARENTS/GUARDIANS ONLY from 08:00-10:00. Learners will be released at 10:00. School will re-open for Term 3 on Tuesday, the 22ND of July 2025. We wish our staff and learners a safe and enjoyable holiday.

 

  1. TERM 3 COMPULSORY PARENTS’ EVENING

Kindly take note that the Term 3 compulsory Parents’ Evening will take place on the 31ST of July 2025 strictly from 16:00–18:00 (no late comers). Parents will have the opportunity to view learners’ assessments, to see/discuss cumulative defaults, to set academic targets for Term 3 as well as to discuss their child’s performance with subject teachers. It is vital for at least one parent/guardian to attend this important meeting. We thank you for your co-operation.

 

  1. PYJAMA DAY

Our annual Pyjama Day will take place on Friday, the 01st of August 2025. Learners can come to school dressed snuggly in their WINTER pyjamas at a cost of R30 payable only on the Karri App. NO CIVVIES ARE ALLOWED ON THIS DAY! We encourage our learners not to miss out on the fun!

 

  1. GRADE 4-7 OVERNIGHT CAMPS

Parents and guardians are hereby informed of the Grade 4-7 overnight camps. Please note that for learners to attend camp, their school fees account must be up to date. All payments must be made on the Karri App. Kindly note that there are limited spaces based on first-come first-served basis. The deposit fee of R1000 is due by 31 July 2025. The cut-off date for the full payment is the 05th of September 2025 after which NO PAYMENTS WILL BE ACCEPTED! Parents are encouraged to pay in instalments (June, July and August) after the payment of the deposit. Kindly note that there will be no water-related activities and all camps have received approval from the GDE. Individual letters will be issued with specific details for each grade.   1. ONLINE GRADE 2-7 NEW APPLICATIONS FOR 2026

Applications for new admissions in Grades 2-7 for 2026 are conducted online and opened on the 22nd of April 2025 and will conclude on the 22nd of August 2025. To apply, parents/guardians must go to our school website (www.midrandprimary.co.za) and click on the admissions tab. Required documents: Certified copy of birth certificate, certified copy of parent’s ID’s, recent/latest school report, municipality account/lease agreement, and the clinic card/records. Kindly ensure that the compulsory certified documents (not older than three months) are scanned and uploaded. No late applications will be accepted.

 

  1. GRADE 1 AND GRADE 8 ONLINE APPLICATIONS FOR 2026

Applications for Grade 1 and Grade 8 admissions are done online and are not conducted internally at schools. Online applications will open on the 24th of July 2025 and will close on the 29th of August 2025 at midnight. We implore parents to apply early to avoid placement issues. Parents/guardians can visit www.gdeadmissions.gov.za to apply.

 

  1. EXTRA-MURAL & CO-CURRICULAR RESULTS

CHESS RESULTS

Our chess teams competed at the District level of the chess competition for the individual championships on 20/06/2025 at Curro Sagewood. Lesedi Mhlekwa received a medal. Kalauba Maake also received a medal and will be proceeding to Provincials. The learners performed well. Note that there will be chess team tournaments in the next term. We congratulate the coach, Mrs. De Jong and we wish Kalauba all the best as he represents Johannesburg East District at Provincials.

 

SALA RESULTS

Our learners competed in the SALA competition for Public Speaking on the 26/06/2025. We are pleased to announce that the following learners qualified to participate in the semi-final for public speaking: Bokang Galane, Clara Mbakou, Karabo Mokoena, Pabalelo Mokgomotho and Refentse Sephadi. The semi-finals will take place on the 7th of August 2025. We congratulate the coach, Ms. T. Mavundla and her team. We wish them all the best for the semi-finals!
